Privacy at the Slotoro guide: what is collected and what readers can ask for

Who is responsible for personal data on this site?

The editorial team that publishes this guide decides why and how personal data collected through the site is used, which makes it the controller for that data. It is not the casino. The casino runs accounts, payments and verification under its own privacy policy, and anything a reader enters on the casino’s site is handled under that policy and not this one. Questions about this page go to [email protected].

What personal data does the guide receive?

It receives two kinds. The first is whatever a reader chooses to send: an e-mail address and the message written to the editorial mailbox, plus anything the message contains. The second is the technical data a web server needs in order to deliver a page, such as the network address of the device and the page requested. The guide has no reader accounts, no registration and no payment forms, so it does not ask for passwords, card numbers or identity documents. A reader who writes to the mailbox should not attach any of those either; the editorial team cannot see or change a casino account and has no use for them.

Why is it used, and on what legal basis?

Messages are used to answer the reader and, where a message points out a figure that looks out of date, to check the page and correct it. The legal basis is legitimate interests under the UK GDPR: running an accurate guide and replying to people who write to it. Technical data is used to deliver the pages and to keep the site secure on the same basis. Where a non-essential cookie or similar technology is used, for example to measure which pages are read, it is used only with the reader’s consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Which cookies does the site use?

The commitment is a narrow one. Cookies that make pages load and display are used without a prompt, because the site cannot work without them. Anything beyond that, such as measurement, depends on consent and is not set before it is given. The guide does not use cookies to build advertising profiles of readers.

Who else sees the data?

Only the providers doing a job for the editorial team: the hosting service that serves the pages and the mail service that holds the mailbox. They process data on the team’s instruction, not for their own purposes. Personal data is not sold. When a reader follows a link to Slotoro, the reader leaves this site and the casino’s own policy takes over from that click. The casino’s privacy policy states that its service does not address anyone under 18.

What happens to a message about a casino account?

The editorial team does not forward messages to Slotoro and does not hold account data, so a message about a deposit, a bonus balance or a withdrawal receives a reply that points to the operator. Slotoro advertises live chat 24 hours a day, plus e-mail support and an FAQ, and those routes sit under the casino’s own policy.

How long is it kept?

A message and its reply are kept for as long as needed to deal with the request and any correction that follows, and then deleted. Technical data is kept for the short period needed for delivery and security. There is no standing archive of reader messages.

Is data sent outside the United Kingdom?

Service providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, the transfer relies on a recognised safeguard, such as adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

What can a reader ask for?

Under the UK GDPR a reader can ask for a copy of the personal data held about them, have inaccurate data corrected, have data erased, ask for processing to be restricted, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and, where the processing is based on consent, receive data they supplied in a portable format. A reader can also withdraw consent given for cookies. Write to [email protected]; the reply is due within one month of the request. If the answer is unsatisfactory, a complaint can be made to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

How is the data protected?

Access to the editorial mailbox is limited to the people who answer it. If a personal data breach occurred that put readers at risk, the editorial team would tell the people affected and the ICO as the law requires.

Is the guide meant for children?

No. The guide is written for adults. The minimum gambling age in Great Britain is 18, and the editorial team does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. A parent who thinks a child has written to the mailbox can ask for the message to be erased.

What happens when this policy changes?

This policy has been in effect since 12 October 2026, and any new version replaces it. If a change would alter how a reader’s data is used, the guide says so on this page where readers will see it, and consent already given is not treated as extending to the new use.
